I have always enjoyed writing as a hobby, but started writing reviews online in February 2010 for Dooyoo, and later Ciao. In the beginning it was about making a little extra money, but I found that after some time on these sites, my writing was improving and I was getting a real buzz from the positive feedback that my reviews were getting. My focus became less about money and more about producing a great piece of writing that I could be proud of. That is why I really enjoy Suite 101. It gives me much more scope as a writer and allows me to write about the things that interest me.
I live in the West Midlands in the UK. I am married with children, so obviously family issues, health and parenting are subjects that I am passionate about. I was one of the founding members of a local breastfeeding support group, so have experience in that field. Grammar School educated, I also studied horticulture at college, and have a wide range of interests including wildlife, travel and current events.
My focus is on producing high quality aticles on a range of subjects that interest me. I was thrilled to receive an Editor's Choice award for my article about The Great Crested Newt.
I currently work part time as a freelance researcher for a local company, undertaking various research projects and setting up and conducting focus groups.
I write two blogs, which I update regularly. The first is about my experience of Topical Steroid Withdrawal and the second is about living with a child who has Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
